Day 1 - Land's End to Pendeen

Weather today: Sunny, breezy, blue sea

Daily Miles Covered: 10.2

Total Miles Covered: 10.2

Things of Interest: Spectacular coastline. Selection of birds including Choughs, Ravens, Buzzards and the first Swallows of the summer

Personal Comments: Left Land's End at 9.45. Declined a picture of the start post at £9.75. Made Sennen Cove easily. Rechargable batteries on camera failed already! - bought new ones. Tough walking on sandy beach. Met a lady picking sea beet - told us it tasted just like spinach!
Philip lost his glasses 2 hours into the walk - had to avoid walking into the sea. Met a Mr John Sumner who gave us a donation for our charity, having lost his son to cancer at 36 years old. Passed a profusion of ex tin mines from a time gone by. Made Pendeen, picked up at Pendeen watch by Andrew who had kettle on!!

Not a bad first day. You'll have to keep Phil on a lead till he gets more glasses. Will keep watching and informing others that are asking.
